Rune Tennesmed Swedish Modernist Pewter Honeysuckle Brooch featuring an offset framed silver honeysuckle flower on a black background within a silver frame all made of Pewter. R Tennesmed did a series of these pewter flower brooches in the 1960's and 1970's. It has a rollover clasp and it is signed 'R Tennesmed' on the reverse.
This lovely brooch measures 4.7cm high and 3.8cm at its widest point and it weighs 16.3g. Rune Tennesmed was a 20th century Swedish design who worked primarily in pewter. The name Tennesmed actually translates to pewtersmith. His birth name, Rune Carlsson, was changed to reflect his profession and it became the name of his company.
