Collection: Mikimoto

Mikimoto Kokichi created the first artificially-cultivated pearl in 1893 and opened his first boutique six years later in Tokyo. Mikimoto's pearls gained worldwide attention when they were exhibited in London in 1910. The company patented its classification system in 1974 and today each pearl is carefully examined and only three to five percent are used in the jewellery. The company's collections, which blend tradition and the latest trends, feature pearls in colours including white, gold, pink, green, blue, grey, off-white, and black. Mikimoto jewellery is considered one of the most beautiful in the world and was even worn by Marilyn Monroe.
