Carlos Sobral

Carlos Sobral, a jewellery designer from Brazil, established Genesis in 1978, which later became Memphis in 1981. Using polyester resin, he created unique and colourful pieces that gained media attention and opened up export markets for the brand. Due to imitations, the sales of Memphis decreased in 1993, and the brand was closed in 1994. Today, Sobral continues to create new jewellery and home accessories with a conscience, using recycled materials.
