Grosse Germany Three Flowers Crystal Gold Plated Brooch featuring three flowers at staggered heights. The flowers have a raised smooth gold plated design, which defines the edge of the petals, contrasting with a glistening textured gold plated background and with delicate clear crystals representing the anthers. This elegant brooch measures 10.5cm and it is 4cm at its widest point and it weighs 15.3g. It has a vertical rollover pin and it is signed 'Grosse GERMANY' on an oval cartouche on its smooth gold reverse. A very feminine and eye-catching brooch by Grosse.
Grosse was founded in 1907 by Mr Heinrich Henkel and Mr Florentin Grosse, also referred to as Henkel and Grosse and during the 1930's worked with design houses such as Lanvin and Schiaparelli in Paris as well as with Harrods in London and Saks in New York. Since 1955 Henkel & Grosse worked together with Christian Dior and for fifty years held a license to produce and distribute Dior jewellery worldwide.
Grosse carried on producing their own jewellery lines, For example, the line Grosse Bijoux, which was expanded in the 1960s to include the collections Grosse Sterling and Gold. In 2005 the family withdrew from the business and the firm became part of the Dior group.
