Grosse 1970 Germany Domed Gold Plated Brooch
Grosse 1970 Germany Domed Gold Plated Brooch featuring a deep oval domed gold plated brooch with rope detailing. This lovely brooch is 3.3cm tall and 4cm wide and 2cm deep and it weighs 19.9g. It has a rollover clasp and is signed '19' at the top, then 'Grosse©' in script and (with a crown above the 'G') with '70' below followed by 'GERMANY'.
Grossé was founded in 1907 by Mr Heinrich Henkel and Mr Florentin Grossé, also referred to as Henkel and Grossé and during the 1930's worked with design houses such as Lanvin and Schiaparelli in Paris as well as with Harrods in London and Saks in New York. Since 1955 Henkel & Grossé worked together with Christian Dior and for fifty years held a license to produce and distribute Dior jewellery worldwide.
Henkel & Grossé carried on producing their own jewellery lines, For example, the line Grossé Bijoux, which was expanded in the 1960s to include the collections Grossé Sterling and Gold. In 2005 the family withdrew from the business and the firm became part of the Dior group.
