Deakin & Francis 9ct Gold Single Pierced Earring – Early 1970s showcasing mid-century British craftsmanship.  This single pierced earring from Deakin & Francis, a luxury Birmingham maker with roots since 1786, celebrated for crafting high-end jewellery for royalty, from Victorian courts to modern monarchs, and discerning clients worldwide, now showcased at their prestigious Piccadilly Arcade store in London.

Crafted in 9ct gold, it weighs 0.6g and measures 1cm in diameter by 0.6cm deep. The push on earring stopper is unmarked, but fits the piercing post perfectly, possibly original to the earring.  A flattened bun shape reflects the era’s minimalist style. Its versatile, unisex design suits a solo wear or a collector’s project to find a match.

Hallmarked with a Birmingham anchor (poorly stamped, showing vintage wear), a “.375” mark in a chamfered rectangle, and the “D&F” stamp within their crescent moon frame, this earring bears signs of age with worn additional marks. Dating to the early 1970s, possibly earlier, it reflects Deakin & Francis’s legacy of quality, blending heritage with a style that complements today’s single earring trend.
