BSK Owl On Branch Brooch featuring a sweet owl perched on a branch with feather detailing and dark red round faceted glass eyes. This charming brooch measures 5.5cm tall and 3.7cm at its widest point and he weighs 14.5g. It has a rollover pin and it is signed 'BSK' on the reverse. New York based BSK were producing jewellery from 1948 until the early 1980s. The name BSK were the initials of the surnames of the founders Steinberg, Slovitt and Kaslo. BSK jewellery often incorporated coloured enamels, Aurora Borealis rhinestone, and imitation of pearls. They often used the technique of brushing (causing small cuts on the metal surface).
