Black Coral Parure comprising a bangle, pierced earrings and a necklace. Made in Hawaii or Japan around the 1930's. The earring backs are stamped 925 and the necklace spring ring clasp is also marked 925. It is rumoured that black coral is now the rarest colour of coral. I have tried to capture the distinctive texture of the black coral, which as an organic material, is very strong, hence how these pieces have survived in tact all these years.
The bangle has an internal measurement of 19.5cm and it weighs 4.3g. The earrings are 3cm tall and 1.1cm at their widest point and they weigh 1.6g. The necklace is 44cm long and it weighs 8.5g.
