Attwood and Sawyer 22ct Gold Plated Enamel Owl Brooch on Branch featuring a beautiful owl with pave set crystal face with green crystal eyes and a feathered body of green enamel and blue enamel and pave set crystals. He is perched on a bark textured 22ct gold plate branch with a pave set crystal visible at the one end. He has a rollover clasp and is signed A & S on the reverse.

This lovely owl measures 3.5cm high and 3.8cm at his widest point and he weighs 24.1g. The Owl lives within the darkness, which includes magic, mystery, and ancient knowledge. Also related to the night is the moon, which owls are also connected to. It becomes a symbol of the feminine and fertility, with the moon's cycles of renewal. Even the mythology relates owl to this wisdom and femininity.

Attwood and Sawyer was founded in 1956 in Porthcawl, Wales by Mr Horace Attwood and Mr Sawyer. Many of the designs, now highly collectible, were inspired by historical references, including their most recognisable collection inspired by the jewellery collection of the Duchess of Windsor. Popular in the UK and Europe, they went on to produce the jewellery for the television series Dynasty.
