Collection: Balenciaga

Founded by Basque fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga (1895-1972), Balenciaga is a legendary fashion house with a century of history. Italian siblings Bruno Coppola and Lyda Toppo created jewellery for Balenciaga in the 1940s. After Cristobal’s career ended in 1968, the fashion house continued under new ownership. Balenciaga produced ready-to-wear clothes, perfumes, and accessories. In the 1980s, Balenciaga, like other Parisian houses, created bijoux for shows and perfume releases. Officially, Balenciaga’s jewellery history spanned two decades (1981-2003). Authentic matte gold-plated Balenciaga jewellery from the 1980s is highly collectible. Maison Gripoix and Orena Paris were notable jewellery companies that collaborated with Balenciaga.
